The tenacious Bulldogs defeat the Spartans 32-10

Scott’s physicality proved too much for the visiting Start Spartans. Trailing 3-0 after fumbling the opening kickoff the Bulldogs struck on a 65yd pass from Carnell Smith (9-19 for 172yds 4tds) to Daryll Barnett (4 rec for 104yds & 2tds) in which he overpowered the defender and outran the defense. Scott’s stifling defense kept Start at bay the entire game. The only touchdown by the Spartans came on a 47yd jaunt by Marquise Yarbro after an awkward snap on an attempted punt. Other contributors for Scott were Tylin Davis (4 rec for 67yds & 2 tds) and Amon Haynes (23 carries for 122 and a td). The Bulldogs now control their own destiny for their 1st city title in nearly a decade needing a only victory over the Waite Indians in the regular season finale. Also, the Bulldogs are chasing the opportunity to host an opening round playoff game. Scott moves to 7-2 (4-0) and Start falls to 3-7 (3-1).
