Start wins the City League title in convincing fashion

Lima Senior came into Friday’s city league contest sporting a 9-0 record and a potent passing offense that is nationally known. Start entered the game a battle tested 6-3, both teams were 5-0 in league play. The Spartans of Start high jumped out to a 24-0 league and never looked back as they withstood a Lima Senior rally to win 48-20. Start’s duo of Joneh Tall 15 carries 146 yards and Tai’Rese Highsmith 17 for 129 paced the Spartans. Lima Senior’s duo of Ja’Naius Hall (4,145 & 55 tds) and Boog Wilson couldn’t bring the team back from the 24-point deficit. Hall finished with 286 yards passing with two TD’s but 3 interceptions also. Wilson had a steller night finishing with 193 yards receiving. With the win Start will now face North Ridgeville on the road in the playoffs while Lima Senior travels to Vandalia Butler on 11/1/24.
