Cardinals survive a scare and advance

Led by 24 points from Skyler Ju the Genoa Comets put forth a valiant effort as their season came to an end in a 59-55 loss to Cardinal Stritch in the district semifinal. Down twelve points at the half the comets rallied back to only a one-point deficit with just over a minute to play in the game 51-50. Great free throw shooting down the stretch for Cardinal Stritch proved too much for the Comets to overcome. Consistent play from Christian Burton (17 points) and Kam Hughes (16 points) has the 18-7, 4th seeded Cardinals in the district final against the top seeded Eastwood Eagles (21-3).
